Marshall King’s “Dining Ala King” column appears in the Goshen News and South Bend Tribune every week. In this episode, we find out how Marshall started his foray into food writing and where he’d like to go next in his writing career. This was a fun interview. It was cool to meet the guy who inspired me to eat at some of my favorite local restaurants.

Being busy and sick left me with no guest this week. I took the opportunity to talk about why & how I started the Michiana People Podcast, did a retrospective of the episodes to date, and threw out some ideas for the future. This podcast has meant a lot to me mostly because of the inspiring people I’ve met. I hope you have gained some knowledge and inspiration as well.

Amber & Nate from Shiny Shiny Black sent me an advance copy of their “Wild Edges” EP. I loved it and put a few thoughts into audio format for you. I hope you check out their. I think you’ll like it. You still have some time to get some cool stuff on their Pledge Music Page. Here it is:

Jeff Thomas & Gary Stieglitz started off as home craft brewers. After they met at a school function, the idea for starting a brewery started to ferment. Now, Thomas & Stieglitz Brewing Co is a reality. With their new home on 5th St in Goshen, IN, Jeff & Gary are bringing their favorite craft brew to the world. The world (including me) is glad that they are. This was a great story and I really enjoyed learning about the brewing process.

I had listened to and liked a couple Shiny Shiny Black tunes before I started the podcast. I became a super-fan after seeing them live at Ignition Music in Goshen. Their nusic is about real stuff, real feelings, and real concern for the world. Amber & Nate Butler were wonderful to talk to and I hope we can get back together when I have full batteries in my recorder.
